Turning the roof to install solar panels in Aldershot

Monday 11th June 2012 by Sara Pernas

Joe McLoughlin lives in Aldershot and last year he decided to give solar energy a chance, as a way to make some home improvements as well as to start saving money in his electricity bills.

We had a meeting in November 2011 and decided that the best option for Joe was the supply and installation of one solar array on the roof of the property of eleven 230W polycrystalline panels, with one Delta 3.3 inverter and one generation meter.

Before the installation Joe thought he would be better having his panels facing south, so he used the calculator on the Marble Solar website to work out the amount he would generate if his roof was facing South – or if it remained facing West. From this he was able to calculate that he would still make a profit after paying for the extra cost of turning the roof around. When this was done the panels were added to the roof with extra ones on the gable end to make the most of the space.

The installation was a complete success, both for Marble Solar and also for Joe, who is really happy with the results.

“Marble Solar did a fantastic job for me. They came when they said they would, keep the site very tidy and worked efficiently, neatly and quickly to give me a solar array that makes the most of what was a small site. The paperwork was all completed on time and I was able to register my installation easily without any problems.”
